About us
Little Bears Pre-School has been running for over 23 years. We are a small rural pre-school for 2½ – 5 year olds in a beautiful country setting. We are a warm and friendly pre-school dedicated to children’s learning through play. We have fun activities in and out of pre-school and welcome parents and carers involvement.
Our sessions run from 9.20am to 12.20pm Monday to Friday and we also run Lunch Clubs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12.20pm to 1.20pm – please see full details below.
We organise the day so the children can choose from and work at a range of activities, we also incorporate ‘carpet time’ where we sit down with all the children and talk through general topics – also giving the children the opportunity to tell us about their interests and activities outside of Little Bears. We have a great outdoor space which we use whenever we can (weather permitting) and always try and end the session with our ‘Star of the Day’ presentation.

Little Bears Lunch Club
In addition to our morning fun, we offer three Lunch Club sessions per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12.20 – 1.20.
Children have the opportunity to play together in a smaller, quieter group and choose their own resources.
When the morning children have left, we sit down together for lunch. This is a time to reflect on the morning, give each other our news and have a chat.
While the children are enjoying the chance to socialise, they are learning valuable social skills, participating in healthy eating and continuing to receive focused attention from the adults. In a smaller group the children are relaxed, interacting freely with each other and the supervising adults and using lots of language.
We then tidy up our lunch boxes and pack away our chairs before playing. There is a final tidy-up around 1.15 pm then, if time, a quick song or story.
If you feel your child would benefit from joining in with our lunch club – and you would benefit from that extra hour!- please see either Claire Cox or Julie Vaughan.
